Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal information Retexa Inc. ("Retexa", "we", "us") processes, why, and what choices you have. We've tried to write it in plain words.

1. Who we are

Retexa Inc. is a Delaware corporation. We make software for US freight brokers and third-party logistics companies: an agent that calls, texts and messages carriers about our customers' loads, tracks those loads and handles their paperwork. Retexa is not a broker or a carrier. Our customers are the brokerages and 3PLs that use the service.

2. What information we process

Customer account information

When a brokerage or 3PL signs up, we collect the names, work emails, phone numbers and roles of the people who use the service, billing details, and the settings and instructions they give the agent.

Carrier, driver and shipper information, on behalf of our customers

To run a customer's loads, the service processes information the customer gives us or that is created while working their loads. This can include:

carrier company names, MC and DOT numbers, and dispatcher and driver names, phone numbers, email addresses and messaging handles;
the content of calls, text messages, WhatsApp messages and emails with carriers, drivers, shippers and facilities, including call recordings, transcripts, voice notes and translations;
load details, rates, documents such as rate confirmations, BOLs, PODs and receipts, and location and status updates about a load;
public records about carriers, such as FMCSA authority and insurance information.

Website visitors

When you visit our website or contact us, we collect what you send us (for example your name, company, email or phone number and message) and basic technical information such as your browser type, pages visited and IP address. We use cookies only as needed to run the site and understand how it is used.

3. Our role

For carrier, driver, shipper and load information processed for a customer, we act as a service provider (also called a processor) to that customer. The customer decides which carriers and contacts the agent works with and why, and we process that information only to provide the service to them, under our agreement with them. If you are a carrier or driver and have a question about your information, you can contact the brokerage you work with, or contact us and we will pass your request on.

4. How we use information

to provide the service: contact carriers about a customer's loads, check carriers, track loads, collect documents and show the customer a record of what happened;
to support customers, fix problems and keep the service secure;
to bill customers and keep business records;
to answer people who contact us and, for business contacts who ask for it, send information about Retexa;
to meet legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information. We do not show one customer's carriers, rates or shippers to another customer.

5. Calls and text messages

The agent contacts carriers and drivers on behalf of our customers, about the customers' own freight. It says it is an AI agent working for the brokerage, and hands the conversation to a person at the brokerage when asked.

Recordings and transcripts. Calls are recorded and transcribed. The agent says at the start of a call that it is recorded. Recordings, transcripts and messages are saved on the load so the customer can see what was agreed.
Opting out. You can stop text messages at any time by replying STOP. You can reply HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply.
Mobile information. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.

6. Who we share information with

We share information only as needed to run the service:

with the customer the information belongs to;
with service providers that host our systems or provide calling, messaging, transcription, translation or email, under contracts that limit their use of the information;
when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and security of people and of the service;
in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this policy.

7. How long we keep information

We keep customer data for as long as the customer uses the service and as set out in our agreement with them. When a customer leaves, we delete or return their data within a reasonable period, unless we must keep it longer by law. Website contact information is kept for as long as needed to answer you and keep business records.

8. Security

We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect information, and limit access to people who need it to run the service. Data is stored in the United States. No system is completely secure, so we cannot promise that information will never be accessed without permission.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to get a copy, to correct it, to delete it, and to opt out of certain uses. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.

California residents. California law gives residents rights to know, access, correct and delete personal information, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. You or an authorized agent can make a request using the contact details below. We will verify the request before acting on it.

If your information was given to us by a brokerage or 3PL customer, we may refer your request to them, because they decide how that information is used.

10. Children

The service is for businesses. It is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top and, where appropriate, tell customers directly.
